Within 10 minutes by car you will find:
S.Terenzo
where the poet Percy
Bysshe Shelley and his wife Mary Shelley the
author of Frankenstein lived at villa Magni. He was
lost at sea on 8th July 1822 while sailing from
Livorno, his body was found in the Versilia beach by
his pal Byrron who also lived at the villa.
Lerici
famous old castle (circa 1152)
contested over by the
Genovese and the Pisan.
At Lerici you will find a
parking for 300 cars, and take the
waterbus for the
Portovenere
and the
Cinque
Terre.
Within 15 minutes:
Fiascherino
for the lovely beach and it is here in 1913 that
D.H.Lawrence (author of the Lady Chatterly lover)
lived with his lady friend Frieda Von Richtofon the
sister of the famous pilot the Red Baron remember
for his aerial warfare.
Sarzana
a lovely old town ideal for
shopping and eating in
the many restaurants.

You can visit the marble
mountain of
Carrara
where Michelangelo found the
the marble for the David.
